INSTALLATION

We will tear out the current system down to the studs. Reinforce in the walls for any grab bars or folding bench seat. Update hot & cold supply to PEX plumbing before Installing our triple sealed system and hardware.

VA Provider Consultation/Assessment

Talk to your VA Primary Care Provider (PCP) or Social Worker to request a HISA grant for a bathroom remodel.

Obtain medical Documentation

Secure a prescription or clinical note from your VA provider that provides the diagnosis and medical justification for the remodel

Gather Required Documentation

Complete VA Form 10-0103 (Veterans Application for Assistance in Acquiring Home Improvement and Structural Alterations).
Take photos of the current shower.

Obtain a Contractor Bid Bennett Baths Provide this for you.

Obtain a detailed, itemized estimate from a contractor (labor, materials).
The estimate should specifically list the scope, such as “Replace existing tub/shower with low-threshold walk-in shower”

Submit Application Packet Bennett Baths will help with required photos & detailed drawing.

Send the completed application (Form 10-0103), prescription, photos, and contractor bid to the Prosthetic & Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) department at your local VA Medical Center.

Review and Approval

A HISA committee reviews the packet. Do not start work yet, as work started early is not eligible for reimbursement.
You may request up to 50% advance payment in your application for materials.

Funding Limits:

The HISA grant covers up to $6800 for service-connected veterans and up to $2,000 for non-service-connected disabilities.
